| Drain and rinse soaked kala chana |
| Heat oil and fry onions until golden |
| Add tomatoes and cook until soft |
| Add all spices and mix well |
| Add kala chana and stir |
| Pour in water, cover and cook until tender |
| Adjust seasoning and simmer to thicken |
Serve hot with steamed basmati rice, chapati or naan, and a spoon of yoghurt on the side.
