Sago Khichdi

A light, easy-to-digest dish made with Lioncroft Sago Seeds. Perfect for fasting or light meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Lioncroft Sago Seeds, soaked for 1 hour
  • 2 tbsp ghee or Lioncroft Sunflower Oil
  • 1 tsp Lioncroft Cumin Seeds
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 medium potato, cubed (optional)
  • 10-12 peanuts, roasted
  • ½ tsp Lioncroft Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander, chopped
  • Lemon juice
1. Drain the soaked sago and rinse until water runs clear.
2. Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds.
3. When they splutter, add green chillies and potato cubes (if using).
4. Cook for 5 minutes.
5. Add drained sago, turmeric and salt.
6. Stir well and cook on low heat for 10-12 minutes, stirring frequently, until sago becomes translucent.
7. Add peanuts and mix.
8. Garnish with coriander and lemon juice.

🍽️ Serving Suggestion

Serve warm or at room temperature, often during fasting days.
