Lime Pickle Dal

Comfort dal with a tangy kick from Lioncroft Lime Pickle. Simple, quick and bursting with flavour. Serves: 4 people Total cooking time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow dal (toor or moong), rinsed
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tsp Lioncroft Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tbsp Lioncroft Lime Pickle, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Lioncroft Sunflower Oil
  • 1 tsp Lioncroft Cumin Seeds
  • 2 dried red chillies
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander, chopped
1. Cook dal with water and turmeric until soft and creamy (about 20-25 minutes).
2. Add salt and chopped lime pickle, stirring well.
3. In a small pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds and dried chillies.
4. Add garlic slices and fry until golden.
5. Pour this tempering over the dal.
6. Garnish with fresh coriander.

🍽️ Serving Suggestion

Serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
