Crispy, golden patties made with boiled Lioncroft Kala Chana. Perfect as an appetizer or tea-time snack with bold spices. Serves: 4 people Total cooking time: 30 minutes
| 1. Mash the boiled kala chana coarsely using a fork or potato masher. |
| 2. Mix with mashed potatoes, onion, green chillies, cumin, garam masala, turmeric, salt and coriander. |
| 3. Add breadcrumbs and mix until the mixture holds together. |
| 4. Shape into small round or oval patties. |
| 5. Coat each patty lightly with breadcrumbs. |
| 6. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the tikkis until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. |
| 7. Drain on paper towels. |
Serve hot with mint chutney, tamarind chutney or tomato ketchup.
