Chana Dal Pakora

Crispy, golden fritters made with Lioncroft Chana Dal. Perfect as a snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Lioncroft Chana Dal, soaked for 3 hours
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Lioncroft Ground Cumin
  • ½ tsp Lioncroft Turmeric Powder
  • Pinch of asafoetida (hing)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander, chopped
  • Lioncroft Sunflower Oil for deep frying
1. Drain the soaked chana dal and grind coarsely (do not add water; the batter should be thick).
2. Transfer to a bowl and add onion, green chillies, cumin, turmeric, asafoetida, salt and coriander.
3. Mix well.
4. Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
5. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into hot oil.
6. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
7. Drain on paper towels.

🍽️ Serving Suggestion

Serve hot with mint chutney or tamarind sauce and a cup of tea.
